Owylss Haven
Everyone possesses a dream. Often, they possess many dreams, from the fantastical to the down-to-earth variants which get us through a particularly stressful week. To climb up the Rock of Ravatogh falls somewhere in the middle - somewhere that is in theory quite close and a drive away and yet, in practice, an immense test of skill and willpower.
Truly the tales that have been told of this arduous climb are not to be underestimated or disbelieved. The ascent is far steeper than one will have ever faced in their life, and made all the more harsh due to the efforts of saphyrtails, spiracorns, thunderocs, and wyverns. Not only will nature passively impede any progress with soft sand that could send you tumbling over the nearest cliff or the burning hot sheets of magma smoldering under the surface of obsidian, but it actively rails against your journey with beasts such as they. Even worse, far larger and more menacing threats may lay in the heart of this mountain...
If you have not properly researched this trek, I advise you to do so. If you must hire a guide who will help keep you safe and show you the proper handholds that lead you to the summit, do so. This is a demanding climb, and you must always remember that your life is the most valuable thing of all.
However, an untold number of books have been written on all of this. I need not repeat any of them in what is to be a simple review for a Haven above all else. So here, I only have three things that I wish to tell you.
The first is that the Rock of Ravatogh is absolutely overwhelmed with kettier ginger.
The second is that the view as you look over the entirety of this beautiful land alongside the people you love the most will impart an experience into you that you will never forget.
Finally, and third, is that Owlyss will be your finest ally in surviving such a perilous journey, whose embrace will be the sweetest out of all the Havens to make up for all the trials that it took to reach it. While it will not give you the finest view of either the Rock or Cleigne, it is still a view, and one that will leave you feeling almost weightless.
A thick 'n' juicy steak, made with catoblepas brisket and using that kettier ginger to good use. That is exactly what you want to eat when you sit on top of the world with the night sky above and life stretched out before you.

womenwantme: I won't say "If you can make it at Ravatogh, you can make it anywhere". That's just not true. Surviving a trek up to the Rock is going to be a very different experience than, say, stomping through the area around the Vesperpool. But Ravatogh is definitely one of the final tests in one's camping life. Making it past vicious beasts, dealing with unforgiving terrain, and fighting past all that heat... It shows you something about yourself. More than anything, it proves that if you can make it past all the challenges, there's something that will be worth it right there at the end, and you can look out at it all together as the world just opens up before you in a way you won't ever have seen before. This is what camping is all about. ★★★★★
