Sothemock
Out of the trio of Havens which encircle the Kelbass Grasslands, truthfully, at least a solid half will visit Sothmocke. No, it does not offer the stunning view of Lestallum that Wainterre does, nor does it sit cozily upon a set of hiking paths as Narcie. Instead, Sothmocke offers something which many a traveler would say is the most valuable thing of all:
Convenience.
As I mentioned in a prior review, time is an ever valuable thing when it comes to being on the road. Rather than wasting precious daylight hours sightseeing or meandering across wilderness paths, far most rather that they simply scrounge up whatever minutes they possibly can on the road. That means taking the far shorter road between Kelbass and Mencemoor, where one can shave off invaluable minutes. That may not mean they will escape the fall of night, granted, but a portion of the journey will nonetheless be made.
I would say this Haven is especially useful for those aiming to sight see at the Disc, but until the Empire graces us with their abscence, that area will most likely be unavaible to any hopeful tourists.
Still, this convenience does come with a cost. To the north, a couerl has made its home. To the south, garula herds roam. The east does earn you a fairly lovely view of the Disc, of course, and yet, to the west, the most disappointing aspect of Sothmocke of all becomes apparent: you can see Aracheole Stronghold rather ruining the view. For legal purposes, I should advise any readers to avoid lingering at Sothmocke lest the resident automatons start getting ideas on what you are doing there. I have no idea what on earth could have them so jumpy as of late.
While of course the resident garula herd offers a whole cookbook's worth of recipes one may cook while staying at Sothmocke, travelers willing to hop the road rail and venture somewhat north will find some fine Schier tumeric growing there amidst the trees. Use that in some beanball croquettes, made with chocobeans and cleigne wheat, and the entire bothersome stay may nearly be worth it.

womenwantme: If you don't want an eyeful of concrete looking over your shoulder the entire time, just take the long route. Enjoy nature at Narcie or Wainterre. Better use of your time. ★✩✩✩✩
