Lingagh Haven

While access to the Disc may now be somewhat difficult to procure for many tourists, that does not mean that Duscae is lacking in a variety of locations where one may nonetheless receive a grand view of it. Some appreciate the view that they receive when they stop at Coernix Station in order to fill up on gas, with all the food stalls there enabling a bite to eat as well as a feast for the eyes. Others would rather wait until they make the long and winding trip all the way to Lestallum, where they might look through a pair of binoculars and delight in feeling so above the majesty of this bit of Duscae.

There is something, I think to be said, for enjoying this view from Lingagh. This is in part because, unlike the view from Coernix Station, I find it to be slightly less obstructed - at least, not from trees or buildings. Lingagh allows a somewhat broader view of the Disc. It brings something more "down to earth", in some difficult to describe fashion, and yet I shall try my best to impart this feeling.

Feeling connected and getting a view of the entire picture of such a monumental location can be a tricky thing. To ensure the bigger picture is gotten, one will often pull back, for that is what seems most sensible, yet doing so puts a kind of distance that is far more severe than what is happening in actuality. Yet to seek out that connection, what makes a view so awe-inspiring can be sometimes impossible to grab. Somehow, Lingagh manages to bridge this contradiction neatly. Perhaps its secret lies in its location, nestled neatly amongst the hills of Rydielle Ley, where you can see the ground directly beneath your feet roll down into the depths of the Disc where that brilliant burst of crystalline structure shines.

Still, safety does come first. In light of that tried and true rule, many will likely drive past Lingagh if they have no need of stopping at it for an emergency retreat. This is because both arba and the voretooths which attempt to prey on them lurk in the immediate area, and so prove troublesome when you are merely struggling up a hill in hopes of safety.

My advice is to take advantage of the nearby outcropping of chocobeans which are apparent nearby, since you will be struggling one way or another. As long as you pack some tofu in advance for your trip as it is, you should be able to make some plump and pungent tofu dishes. Tofu is truly a wonderous material to work with as a chef, inclined to taking in the flavors of whatever you cook with it, and that means something truly special when you add in kettir ginger and sweet peppers.

womenwantme: A nice open area all around you... A clear view of the night sky... The Disc shining right there in front of you... What more could you ask for? Well, a few more things would make this perfect, but it's not too bad at all. ★★★✩✩
