Pullmoor Haven

Tourists going through Duscae are often given the same two locations to marvel over in some capacity or another, if they have the time (and they aren't their destinations regardless): Lestallum and the Wiz Chocobo Post. That is only common sense; I don't intend to demean either location. Still, in my opinion, it is a shame for any passing along the north east side of Duscae to not admire one of its most notable areas: the Alstor Slough.

It seems almost silly, how easily this particular area is forgotten in many a recommendation, for it is responsible for a great deal of the vegetation which surrounds no small portion of Duscae. Without the Slough, there would be no fascinating natural wonders - the mated pair of Catoblepas which reside there being hard to miss.

Pullmoor offers the finest location with which to enjoy this splendor. Not only is it situated right in a clear area that can see nearly all the waters of the Slough, but it is just far enough that, on the edge of Pullmor, you are able to see the Disc as well. It is a view you will rarely get so absolutely clearly at any other Haven, or even any rest stop which lays on the road. There, right on the hillside, you see all that Alstor Sslough hs to offer.

This includes more than just a simple pleasant view, for those willing to exert a bit of energy. Rather, along the Alstor Slough in a way that mimics its opposite coussin Nebulawood, there are numerous sprawling dirt paths which lead energetic hikers all about the area - whether that is enjoying the sunshine on open paths as they admire the Slough, or dipping in amidst the tres which rise up here and there. No matter where you go along the paths, you will undoubtedly find something which will please you.

For example, right near to where Pullmor rests, the nearest outcropping of trees is sure to delight with alstrooms enjoying the plentiful shade, and also Schier turmeric basking in the sunlight not too far away. Down along the south, on that stretch of land which divides the waters, Garula herds also roam quite plentifully, for those who'd rather something a bit more filling to fatten their stomach.

Yet don't be afraid to drift far closer to the waters edge than you might in any other place. Unlike Cleigne, you have no need to worry about the presence of Sahagin or its cousins, and likewise in the case of Shieldshears. Thanks to the dominating presence of the Catoblepas, no predator dares lurk within the waters here. Instead, there are only a pleasant variety of different fish who are all eager to latch onto any aspiring fisherman's line. There are not many spectacular species here, to my understanding, and yet still it is more than plentiful. Some are merely for sports sake, such as horned bluegills, while others may feast on the barramundi species which live there in the Slough.

There is only one thing which makes a mark on this otherwise pristine Havena, and it is that many a pack of voretooth find it rather idyllic themselves. While Pullmoor is but a couple minutes walk from the road once you descend the steps, that is more than enough time for a pack of the creatures to rush out from the grass in defense of their territory.

My recommendation is to be quick on your feet, or shoo the nuisances away.

My recommendation for a meal, in contrast, is much more simple and satisfying. If you have access to a good fishing location and a bit of skill, then it would be a waste to do anything less than take advantage of it. With tha tin mind and good luck, try some battered barramundi. You don't need to do much to get it fried light and crispy, a perfect level of crunch that is not too heavy for either dinner or breakfast. Cut up some Leiden potatoes alongside it for something which perfectly compliments the fish.

fishfearme: ok ok ok ok this is what i'm talking about. the neeglyss towerfront spot is so close to pullmoor that you can almost see it and that 'almost' is primarily because it's tucked away a little bit in a bunch of bushes and stuff that hide it. can you believe that not even the tipsters will remember to tell you about this place?? but you should definitely go there. 100% go there. it's so close to pullmoor that there's no reason not to go. everything about the place is just exactly how fishing should be sometimes i think when you really want somewhere quiet and serene to fish at. there's no rushing water of a really fast stream or tons of tourists just down the path or seadevils being a huge nuisance. it's just you and the water and the fish. and the uh catoblepas. heads up that you WILL get a ton of alstor bass and horned bluegills those are just part and parcle with fishing in duscae at all i think, those fish are everywhere. but you'll get the occasional lucian catfish poking their head up round evevning and, even more importantly, a good healthy amount of dank and crag barramundi. you seriously can't go wrong with eating any of them although you dono't seriously need the potatoes. unles syou cut them into fries i guess. anyway, seriously, check it out, it's nice. ★★★★★

chocobro: yoooooo this place has got it all! ok i mean it s. doesnt got it all bc theres no cozy beds or a roof over your head and like everywhere in duscae rains all the time so you might get rained on but this is still a p. sweet spot!!!! its got liek all the places that you could ask for. if you go over to the nearby little buncha trees then you can even play around with some of the garulets and this is one of the spots where garulessa don't go after you if yous quint at the babies wrong because of all the trees so it's jusst super nice! also got some KILLER shots of the catoblepas which is really easy to do if you just ge tthe right mushrooms bc they go crazy wild for the stuff just make sure not to die in the process. but yeah uuuuuuuuuh could use without the vorettooth getting up onto the haven and then getting confused and bumping into the tents you were setting up because they tried to chase your bro who was running up from the fishing spot. ★★★★✩

womenwantme: If you're already a fairly experienced camper, or at least have done it more than three times, I would say this is basically the perfect Haven to take some friends of yours if you want to convince them to give camping a shot. All you have to do is clear out the voretooth ahead of time. After that, just let the nature do the talking and you'll have them hooked. ★★★✩✩
