Ausace Haven
Out of what is colliquely known as the Slough Triad, Ausace is perhaps the most reserved of the three Havens. In contrast to those generous sister Havens, who are right there alongside the road so that any traveler attempting to escape night may bolt straight to their warm embraces, Ausace does no such thing. Rather, this Haven makes its home nearer to nature, surrounded by cliffs and forest and water. It would be a lie to say it can be easy, sometimes, to make one's way down to Ausace... and yet it is undoubtedly worth the trip and any nuisance.
As the traditionally final stop for those making the full lap around the Slough, Ausace is a call to the hikers, the campers, any who long for the liveliness of nature rather than the frenetic energy which haunts civilization. Here, one may take a break from the sound of cars screeching along the road, and listen to the rain patter along the nearby leaves while you gather nearby wild onions.
Better yet, this is a favorite spot of many an angler for its proximity to Neeglyss Pond. The specific pros and cons of it compared to its sibling which is quite literally across the pond are something that I am afraid only far more skilled fishermen than I could discuss at length. All I will say is that if it is a fish you could find at the towerfront area, then you will of course find it at the pond dock proper.
They share the same pond, after all.
That does indeed mean that the same delicious barramundi can be caught here in this place as well, and you should enjoy them just as much as you would if you were fishing over at Pullmoor. Yet I would make one simple recommendation in that if you would like to enjoy barramundi fillet in an entirely different manner, than you can never go wrong with grilling. It heats up the fish in a way that some have told me numerous times with stuffed cheeks is only the best in the world. Hopefully such a review is enough to encourage you to try it, for it is a wonderfully simple recipe where the hardest work is simply in catching the fish itself.

fishfearme: okaaaaaaaaaaaay i think we can all agree that maybe the reviewer should chill on some of the personal anecdotes. but he is right in that this is honestly another really great spot for fishing. i know that people have a whole lot of ranking and arguing and all of that on fishing spots, i've seen the arguments had over towerfront and the dock, but listen. i have never been to a fishing spot i haven't liked. they all have their own good qualities even when they're at the exact same body of water. like i'm not going to lie sometimes it's just a matter of luck and personal preference on which one is better for you to fish at GENERALLY SPEAKING. if you're just doing your every day average fishing for some shorthorned bluegill or like some really good crab barramundi, then this is just as great a place to fish at as anywhere else like i'm not joking about it. actually i think it's pretty great that no matter if you're on the north side or the south side you can still get some really good fishing in. There's just one thing that you actually should go to only the dock spot for and it's going to be one of the best catfish you've ever gotten in your life. just, absolutely incredible, but also you ARE going to have to fight for it like nobody's business. listen. i know it's a lot to ask for. especially because this catfish, like way too many catfish, prefers only coming out when it's fairly dim and dark out. but that's why you have ausace and a pair of legs. trust me. 100% worth it. also the barramundi is good if nothing else. ★★★★★
chocobro: ok ok ok ok so most of the time the mist just stays trapped in nebulawood like this weird witchs cauldron but listen sometimes it DOESNT and then it just sprawls out down the hill and across the lake and it felt like the world made sense and also best shot i got 10 10. also i think the reviewer should totes keep doing anecdtoes. ★★★★★
womenwantme: Sometimes it really is all about the journey with camping. Some Havens are meant to be springboards. But others are meant to be the end destination. When you've traveled down the path past the entrance into Nebulawood, and you look out past the trees towards the whole Slough just stretched out before you, the wisp of Ausace trailing up into the sky to lead you home to it, there's a peace like nothing else. Makes you really aware of how everything just flows together. I'm glad it's so far away from the road, because that's a kind of feeling you only get with a Haven pulled way from it all. Anyway, +1 to the reviewer putting in anecdotes. It's cute. ★★★★★
